Who am I?

“Hey! I’m Ryan, and this website is my gathering place for what I create. Illustrating and designing are important parts of what I do, always striving to find new ways to improve my style. In this, I find that printmaking plays an important role for me; designing something and then seeing it printed excites me immensely! I have a lot of experience with this myself.

RISO is my go-to technique; creating a fluorescent print with multiple color overlays is not only striking but also unique. I also use other techniques such as screen printing, linocut, lithography, cardboard printing, and etching, always trying to use my own style.

I’m always looking for a purpose in my work and in others’. Personally, I want to create something that can be used or thought about. When I design, I consider this an important part of the final product. For example, creating a logo shouldn’t just look artistic, eye-catching, or unique but should also be practical and functional.”

You’re definitely looking for more info, aren’t you? Okay okay… here are some more fun facts for you.

Did you know that I collect bowling balls and Persian carpets? I’ve been collecting these interesting and distinctive items for a while now, it actually started as a bit of a joke. I once saw a bowling ball in a thrift store and noticed that they have beautiful patterns and colors that I quickly associate with fun or nostalgia. After the first bowling ball, I couldn’t stop looking for these strange balls!

Another interesting fact? I’m a lifeguard and workshop manager! Besides making art, I spend a lot of time around the pool; swimming has always been fun for me since childhood. I also find helping people very important and rewarding. That’s why I work as a lifeguard at the pool. But I’m not only found in the pool. I’m also a workshop manager at the “Grafisch Atelier Den Bosch”. Here, I assist people who come to work and do graphic printing in the workshop.
